Digging Graves
03:56
|

I’m a birthday gift gone wrong,
a music box with a silent song
a canary who can’t sing
a jack in a box with a broken spring
And these pieces that you’ve saved is nothing more than digging graves
I’m the racehorse who won’t run
a party girl who can’t have fun
a thunder storm without the flash
the falling vase you couldn’t catch
All these nights we tried we tried in vain, still nothing more than digging graves
Dig it up if you want
Dig it up if you want
they are parts that can never be a whole that you will that you will love Dig it up if you want
Dig it up if you want

Vulture
04:46

Grave digger you
and you will take the shape of the vulture you are
You pick at what’s left
after the pride have taken their share
And your small town stretches on and on
with no one to tell you you’re wrong
Grave robber you
and you will take the bones of someone you once knew
Taking what’s now
in the hands of somebody new
And your small town stretches on and on
with no one to tell you you’re wrong
Life scavenger you
you try to take the place that’s no longer yours
Taking the throne
when the crown is vulnerable
And your small town stretches on and on
with no one to tell you you’re wrong
How will you feel when your lure’s turned down
and your town has run out of ground
Grave digger you

Sticky Lies
03:57
|

He lies in his own ways and you’re not hurt on the outside
but some bruises take a while to show their darkness
It will not be easy to live without what you’re used to
but in time you will learn to love the life that he took
You are bruising each other up
the truth should be cut and sliced and
and fed back to you as sticky lies
cause liars is all you are
His lies wait for tomorrow and these bruises just get darker
seeping through your memory
a painful way to think of him
When you go to sleep at night this bruise is bleeding deeper
closer to your waking than a surface wound can bleed
You are hiding in each other’s shade
grow accustomed to your dark ways
wrapped up close in a blanket of lies
and liars is all you are
You’re not hurt on the outside
but some bruises take longer to show their darkness
